MCFC 1 :: 2 Days to Go

Just when I thought I was out ... they pull me back in !!!

So I played the Holiday 100K freeroll the other day with 10,000 donks.
I managed to run good (what a surprise) and finish 102nd place.
That was good for $100 in profits and lift my spirits.
I'm gonna try and play some PLO to try and double up to catch DP/DC

DC:

Somewhere around $300 I think.
He's gonna be like Susie on Survivor and sit on his lead and watch what happens

GC:

$116.75
Balls to the wall and try to double up.
Can the freeroll and subsequent $450 profit I made playing live poker be the start of something nice?
I hope so

DP:

Not sure exactly.
I'm guessing $200 or so

Can DP/DC please update the comments with the CURRENT status of their rolls?

Thanks.

I can dodge TONS of outs !!!

My current bankroll is $55 (w/ 2 rebuys). I need to increase my stack at least six-fold..and I've now got about 33 hours to do it. Holy shit..given this situation and with DC's resemblance to Grama, I totally feel like Mike McD right now.

The advantage I have over Mike McD is that I have cash to play with in case I do need to rebuy. So my overall strategy is to forget about small-stakes but rather go for several homeruns. My first strategy is play a $50 HU game and try to build my roll that way. Given all the HU we've played this month, it's probably my best game right now.

I want to play the turbo HU games with are $55 + $2.50. But since I only had $55..i needed to win $2.50 to cover it. So I played a little $0.50/$1 NL (only because all the Razz tables were full). My first hand was AA. Folds to the shortie SB who raises to $4. I flat call. Flop is JT2 with 2 clubs. He jams for his remaining $12..I instacall. He's got KQ. I fade the last two cards and my stack is up to $72 now. Good start !

Wow. Just had one of those games where you feel like a team of destiny. I basically experienced the Tyree catch, the Mike Jones tackle and the Jordan 4th quarter heroics all in one HU match.

I played a $55 + $2.50 against Keshi3. I looked him up in OPR and he's been running good for the last 2 days, although overall he's not a profitable player. He's played over 40 tourneys in the last 24 hrs...so he's obviously a multi-tabler..which means he's likely pretty tight. That read was correct as I was able to take down a lot of pots firing 1, 2, or 3 bullets. On a couple of occasions, I had him down to 500 chips, but he was able to double up with the worst hand PF. At one point, I have a 1530 vs 1470 chip advantage when the flop with T65 with 2 diamonds. I had T4. Nothing fancy preflop. Post flop..I lead out for the pot. He raises 3x. Now that he's got some chips, I think he's trying to cross the 1500 mark with a draw. I jam..he instacalls and shows JT. He fades the cards and I'm down to 60 chips. Next hand..I'm automatically all in as the blinds are 60/120. I have A2 ..and proceed to flop a straight. I go on to win the next 10 out of 12 hands and take him out with AJ vs QT. It was a helluva comeback..fueled by his over-tightness, his inability to hit anything and my skillz as a luckbox.

GC tuned into the match JUST as I was in middle of the hand that dropped me to 60 chips, thereby cementing his cooler rep. But he also witnessed the Miracle comeback and is still in shock...as am I.

Current stack : $125

I'm currently 2-tabling $2/4 Razz. I still haven't quite come down from the high of my comeback, so I'm dropping down in stakes to ensure I don't lay a big turd too quickly. I've been running bad at Razz lately, so I'm hoping for a turnaround. My goal is to get the stack to over $150 by 5pm.

it took a little longer (11 minutes) than expected, but the stack is now at $157. Two big hands shortly after 5pm propelled me.

At this point, here are the approximate chips stacks.

DC : $300 w/ 1 rebuy
GC : $170 w/ 1 rebuy
DP : $157 w/ 2 rebuy

So I'm about $63 behind GC and about $200 behind DC. Definitely management, although I'm not sure which game I want to play the most to actually run up my BR. I love the HU thrill..but it's fairly high risk. Razz has been VERY inconsistent for me lately, although I'm playing a lot more disciplined today. I might try a little $1/2 NL and look for some quick wins there.

I'm going on dinner break now. GC's already on dinner break and is getting fed by his mom. But his sloth-like evening is about to get challenged with baby-sitting duty. That's right..Baby Becks is about to be exposed to the phenomenon that is the final week of MCFC. What we don't know is what kind of luck she'll bring GC. He's prepping himself to fend off baby tilt. But can this bachelor really monitor hand ranges and count outs in the midst of baby wailing and the smell of soiled diapers ? Stay tuned !
