i watched a bit of that HU match... not sure why you called the all in with Q5 with 260. it wasn't a lot, but why double him up to 520 where calling an all in again gives him chips... just let it go back and forth....
i played another $30+3 sng.. .man i was card dead... could not win post flop with cards... had to outplay to take down chips early on....
had the chip lead with 5 or 6 to go, i'm in BB, folded to shart stack small blind who jams.. i instacall with AQ, he's got QJ.. spikes a J... later, my 99 AIPF against the other short stack, he's got AK, we both go 4 hearts to the flush, he's got a King...later i have A6 suited, limped preflop... flop comes 7TQ 2 spades, he goes all in, i call... he's got 5's... i'm in good shape, 2 overs and the spade draw... turns an 8, i pick up a gutshot... nope, no mas... later i have AK AIPF against T7, he gets a Ten... are you kidding me with this shite? how do i still have chips you ask?-- i'm grinding the small pots... KJ diamonds... flop A88 2 diamonds, 7,9 come no diamonds... didn't lose a lot, but still can i catch a 9-outer please.... i finally lose 44 to AA, all in on flop with little chips left... i don't think FT wanted any part of me winning or cashing that sng... FML.
i just read your hand history.. after 155 hands, your dead even... why are you calling all your chips on mid-pair 7 kicker... this makes sense to me?
The Q5o was a very loose and probably incorrect call I guess. I felt I was live and decided to gamble plain and simple. I also thought I was much better than him and could get the chips back if need be.
As for the last hand he just limped the button. He'd raise a bigger hand most of the time so I give him no respect for having an Ace in his hand. I raised him OOP and he just flatted which makes his range very wide in my mind.
I lead out the flop and now he jams? His line makes no sense to me at all. I actually put him on a flush draw of some sort or bottom pair. I don't think he has middle pair since I have that in my hand ... it's less likely he has one. So I'm NEVER folding to this opponent what I KNOW for sure is the best hand ... I figure he has 9-12 outs and I'm slightly tilting. I'm getting too good a price to fold at this point.
Doesn't make sense now that I explain my thought process? It might be flawed but I knew for sure I was ahead regardless of my kicker strength.
Current BR: $82.95 with 1 rebuy
So I still have deficit to erase and some people to catch!!
I'm currently at $185 w/1 rebuy..so $10 behind DC and about $50 behind RJ.
I used up a lot of suckout luck tonight...hopefully i run as good tomorrow !
yeah your logic makes sense... especially after that many hands you know if he's jamming pre flop with an Ace... although when stacks are even like that, he could have had A3 or something like that... i don't know. i hate raising pre-flop when playing heads up, i just don't like creating pots with marginal drawing hands (ie. no pair or no strong ace)
when putting that hand together, i agree that he has a flush draw with a live over card to your ten... it worked out, i'm happy... i just find it weird the entire HU match came down to that hand with identical stacks going in... when mid pair, 7 kicker is sooo weak. DP, GC, let's play a heads up match today, or if you want to get DC or someone else involved lets play when of those 4 HU mini-tourneys tonight...
