At the stroke of midnight..it's SHUFFLE UP AND DEAL !!!

As you can tell from Gary's posts..I'm a little too excited for this month. But alas, that's what happens when :
* you're eliminated from your March Madness pool during the Sweet Sixteen games
* your favourite hockey team threatens to make their annual surge for the 9th spot in the conference and you're not sure what to cheer for
* you're a degenerate

I'm giddy about the fact that 10 degens have begun the month-long journey in the hopes of acheiving greatness. It's kinda like Miss America..except we all nailed the swimsuit contest and have advanced to the Final 10. From this group of 10, one of us will have our FullTiltPoker (FTP) name engraved on a trophy (scroll down for a picture of the trophy).

This tourney is NOT as predicatable as it may seem. In December when we ran MCFC 1, I bolted off to a huge lead after day 3 by running my $50 to $400 by taking a couple of risks and running real good. I soon came crashing down hard. The grindathon then went on for a couple of weeks and the stage was set for the final couple of days where at one point, we were all within $50 of each other. I played about 10 hours on Dec 30th and wound up passing DC going into the final day. On Dec 31st, DC went on the heater of all heaters, won all the coinflips he needed to, sucked out everytime he needed a card and claimed the championship, trophy and exclusive bragging rights for 4 months.

Rules
* We all start with $50 in our account.
* This competition is limited to tournaments under the SNG tab with a minimum of 2 participants (Heads-up) to a maximum of 180.
* You're allowed to play any denomination of tournament, as long as you don't exceed your current bankroll.
* If you bankroll drops below $5, you're allowed to rebuy and add $50 to your account. Rebuys have to be $50 to keep the accounting easy. You can't rebuy until your bankroll drops below the $5 threshold.
* You have to play a best of 3 headsup with every other competitor. We suggest you play $5 tourneys, but if you and your competitor agree to play for more, that's fine. We'll set up a grid to show how everyone's doing in the headsup battle. It's up to you co-ordinate your tourneys as well as to report your results.
* we'll do our best to co-ordinate a SNG where all of us can enter the tourney. This will be tricky given schedules, but we'll do our best.

The Winner
will be declared as the competitor with the most profit as of 11:59pm on April 30th.
While we'll rely on the honour system, stats can be verified on www.officialpokerrankings.com . This is a site worth signing up for a free account. You can track your stats as well as all the other MCFC competitiors.

Bankroll Updates
: Every day that you play, please provide an update on your totals. Use the following format : Current Bankroll: $82.46 (with x REBUY). The Current Bankroll figure is the amount in your account. Let's assume you have $142 (with 2 rebuys). This means you've added $50 to your account twice. So your net profit is $142 - the original $50 - 2 rebuys of $50 = -$8.

Etiquette
* Trash-talking is strongly encouraged
* bankroll updates are mandatory via blog comments
* live blogging via the comments areas is strongly encouraged
* rebuys are strongly encouraged
* sidebets are strongly encouraged

Kickoff is tonight at midnight. As GC said, he and I will be playing a $5 HU tourney at the stroke of midnight. Railbirds are strongly encouraged as well :)

We'll be posting soon with all the names, email addresses and FTP usernames of the competitors.

Good luck to all. T-100 minutes to Let's shuffle up and deal !

T minus 5 hours

DP and I are gonna kick off the festivities with a $5 HU battle at midnight.

This is the email he sent me:

DP:

"let's do a $5 headup to kick it off at midnight. Kinda like the opening game of World Cup of Soccer. You be France and I'll be Senegal."

GC:

"Only if we can live blog it! :)"

I think we'll ALL enjoy this video that I found on a blog I read ...

MCFC 2

Seems like we will have a nice turnout for MCFC2.

The original 3 degens (GC/DP/DC) return with Maninder & Rowin coming along for the ride.

We should get a Montreal contingent as well so hopefully we can get the number of participants to around 8 or so!

That only means a couple of things ...

- More competitors trying to take defending champ DC down.
- More trash talking
- A BIGGER TROPHY! :)

Rules are simple:

- Start with $50 on Full Tilt
- Person with the largest bankroll at the end of the month wins
- Can rebuy only when you fall below $5
- Unlimited rebuys are allowed and encouraged! :)
- Can ONLY plays SNGs for this challenge (HU, single table, multi-table, 90 man, 180 man)
- SNGs can be ANY game format (good news for DP since they spread Razz HU SNGs!!!)
- If it's under the SNG tab then it's fair game!
- If it's NOT under the SNG then you CANNOT play it ... No MTTs no matter how small !
- NO cash games!

This type of challenge is NOT unique ... but seriously ... who's cooler than us?

Here are some links to similar challenges and their impressive results!

And Bluff's Poker Challenge:

http://www.bluffmagazine.com/bluff-poker-challenge/

10K and 20K scores are impressive ... I'd be happy if anyone ends up with 1K ... screw that ... $500 would be great!

[ On a personal note I just want to break even and be the rakeback whore that I am and profit that way! :)]

DP looked awesome in MCFC 1 running his $50 roll in almost $500 a couple of days in ... but that bitch called Razz sent him tumbling downwards.

Good Luck Everyone!

MCFC 2 - Run It Twice

Starting on April 1st ... the next installment of the MCFC.

Let me know if you want part by email/comment/carrier pigeon.

We already have one new entrant and looking for others.

I know times are tough but gambling is recession proof right?
The downside ... losing $50-$200 (depending on number of rebuys)
The upside ... a plastic MCFC trophy and the entitlement to be called "CHAMP" ... priceless!

MCFC2 will mainly be SNGs.
Complete rules to be posted later.

Don't miss out on a chance to be part of history ....
