It'll be a wild race all day long.
I'm not sure I'll rebuy as my confidence is completely shot.
Stay tuned (especially you goooooodgirl) to the excitement ALL DAY long.

Who am I kidding?
I'm a sucker for punishment and a competitive degen ... of course I'll rebuy at some point.

3.15 pm
Sitting down to play some 0.50/1 NL cash game for a change of pace.
Bad idea? I dunno ... we'll see how she goes.
I'll be back to HU later but want a change of scenary for a bit ... these 40 minute HU battles are tiring.

Current Bankroll: $114.16
Basically donked my way through cash games for very minimal effort.
It'd be okay if I were grinding EARLY on in the MCFC ... but I got very little time to make A LOT of money to catch up
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
5.15 pm
Fuck ... played a $50 HU battle against a losing player based on OPR
Got paid off with nut flush in raised pot
Then lost AT to AJ AIPF when I 3-bet him ... fawk.
Then lost when I CR TP shit kicker and was called by a dominating hand.
FAWK ME
Current Bankroll: $61.66

6.40 pm
Fuck it.
I've eaten and begun to drink ... heavily.
I concede victory to DC as there is no way in hell I'll catch up.
Congrats ... let the engraving of the trophy begin!
New Year's Eve ... birth of his first child?

MCFC title ... now that's a reason to toast tonight!
Current Bankroll: $61.66 w/ 2 rebuys

MCFC 1 :: 2 Days to Go
Just when I thought I was out ... they pull me back in !!!
So I played the Holiday 100K freeroll the other day with 10,000 donks.
I managed to run good (what a surprise) and finish 102nd place.
That was good for $100 in profits and lift my spirits.
I'm gonna try and play some PLO to try and double up to catch DP/DC
DC:
Somewhere around $300 I think.
He's gonna be like Susie on Survivor and sit on his lead and watch what happens
GC:
$116.75
Balls to the wall and try to double up.
Can the freeroll and subsequent $450 profit I made playing live poker be the start of something nice?
I hope so
DP:
Not sure exactly.
I'm guessing $200 or so
Can DP/DC please update the comments with the CURRENT status of their rolls?
Thanks.

MCFC 1 :: Good God I created a monster
First off ... we're ALL on NFL tilt after losing our elimination pool this week.
Still in it and we fawked up big time ... Texans suck!
DP:
Onto rebuy #2 for good 'ol DP....
Let's just say that he ran bad in HU matches today to yours truly.
He finds it a tad more difficult to play against an aggro shove monkey.
Especially so when he had bad timing and runs into KK or AJ AIPF
Thanks for the constructive criticism ... something clicked and I'm playing much much better!
Current Bankroll: $50 (onto REBUY #2)
GC:
I run so goooooooood playing HU matches.
I run so baaaaaaaaad playing cash games where I managed to get stacked with AK in a raised pot on an [K93][K][2] board ... yeah, he had 33.
Good thing I managed to get it back today with a ton of HU play.
Current Bankroll: $82.46 (with 1 REBUY)
DC:
I pwn'ed DC heads up but he played some cash to win a bit.
We know he can't hang with me unless he flops a set with 44 and I stack off with an overpair to the board. No ... I'm not bitter at all ... and yes, I'm a sore winner!
Baby tilt also gives me an edge! :)
Current Bankroll: $215.85(with 1 REBUY)

MCFC 1 :: DC final tables an MTT
I sure hope "gooooooooodgirl" appreciates this post too!
I love her/his comments! :)
DP:
Not a lot of things to write about DP.
He congratulated DC for his deep run in the donkament and realized that he needs to step up his game.
Good thing is that he's on vacation and can grind the hours to make up the deficit.
Current Bankroll: $77.55 (with 1 REBUY) *
* Note that this is the last "official" account I have but DP claims he's running terrible so it's likely less than this.
GC:
I railed DC all tournament long and was rooting for a 1st/2nd place finish which would have captured him the MCFC trophy with a 2K/1K prize. I didn't care since deep MTT runs don't happen all that often. Unfortunately he was NOT able to take it down.
I continue to play some solid HU poker with my new and improved aggro style.
I surprised DP who could NOT believe I pwn'ed DC in our matches; 3 to 1.
"The ML in your favour would have been OFF THE CHARTS!!!" was his funniest remark
Current Bankroll: $69.61 (with 1 REBUY)
DC:
Another MTT ... Another Final Table cause that's how he rolls.
He played some great poker but more importantly he made a new friend.
It was the weirdest thing ... a guy sitting to his immediately left had the UPMOST respect for DC's game.
DC played some solid poker and mixed in some isolation raises that this new player "m4skir" (or something like that) appreciated.
He continued to chat DC up and we both felt like he was gonna ask him out for coffee or something.
They were both from Canada and it was the oddest thing ever ... he wanted DC to play at his cash game table (0.05/0.10NL !!! lol) that he started up so they can share a private moment or something.
He would "chop" it and check it down whenever they were in a pot together.
DC "hearts" his newest MTT BFF!!!
Unfortunately he went on tilt and spewed all his chips with around 4 tables remaining. (not to DC or that would have been funny).
DC made the final table but was unfortunate to run his TPTK into the flopped nuts.
He wasn't crippled but lost a ton of chips ... he wasn't able to win a race in order to double up.
9th place in a 1079 donk minefield (including yours truly GC) is (please read in Larry David voice for maximum effect) "pretty good ... pretty ... pretty good"
Current Bankroll: $207.45 (with 1 REBUY)

MCFC 1 :: More HU battles
DP:
So he and DC held their HU battles the other night.
I missed railing the action but apparently it was epic.
Long battles ... lots of bluffing ... lots of 3 bets AIPF ....
So it was EXACTLY like the GC-DP HU battles .. only the complete opposite.
DP ended up taking it down 2 games to 1.
He's running 4-1 in HU battles in the MCFC
Current Bankroll: $77.55 (with 1 REBUY) (after HU matches)
GC:
Tonight GC-DC got into the HU battles ... I took DP's advice and comments to heart and played well. Even DC commented I was playing solid ... lots of bluffs and value bets.
I got him to fold a straight on a flush board based on the timing of my bets seemed so strong.
It was what I intended to happen and he believed it.
I won a HU battle before we managed to get into the same game and ran my nightly HU record to 4-1 !!! oh yeah .... boyyeeeeee
I was on tilt in my loss based on a play in my $3 + 0.30 rebuy tournament.
I 3.5x raised from the CO with TT.
BB was loose and RR to 2.5x my raise.
I shoved for more than 4.5K which was a BIG re-raise.
Fucker INSTA-CALLS with ATo !!!!
Low limits donkey ... I want that call ALL DAY EVERY DAY ... I just don't want them to hit their 3 outer on me ....
Ace on the fucking flop and "gg me".
Fuck I hate poker sometimes.
Current Bankroll: $46.86 (with 1 REBUY)
DC:
He got pwned by me HU tonight ... bad timing and running bad.
His record HU tonight is 2-4 so he's seen better days.
But ... it's Level 10 and he's 34th in chips in the SAME rebuy tournament.
He's 2x the average stack and running good.
His MTT luckbox on the horizon? He can only hope.
I'm railing him and rooting for him despite the MCFC ramifications.
C'mon dude ... pwn these low limit donks !!!
Current Bankroll: $44.45 (with 1 REBUY)

MCFC 1 :: HU pwnage
Well ... I ate some humble pie last night as I got owned playing NL HU matches with DP.
Actually, not totally owned but I'm hard on myself and lost both $10 matches that we played.
Both matches lasted quite some time ... 90+ and 60+ hands if I remember it correctly.
Lots of ups and downs but they both finished in DP's favour.
The second match ended when I 3-bet shoved 72o and ran into DP's AK.
Talk about good timing! :)
I managed to NOT get totally paid when I flopped quads with JJ.
I definitely know that I need to work on my HU game and it was great to get DP's comments and constructive criticism on my game.
DP:
"Welcome to value town ... population GC"
Current Bankroll: $77.55 (with 1 REBUY) (after HU matches)
GC:
"gg DP"
Current Bankroll: $35.91 (with 1 REBUY)
DC:
Aaaaahhhhh ... the joys of parenthood.
Baby Becks sleeps all day and stays up all night.
DC is tired and finding it difficult to get some playing time.
He was supposed to play DP HU tonight but found it difficult to click fast enough in the Lobby.
Mentally preparing himself for the MTT luckbox.
Current Bankroll: $51.50 (with 1 REBUY)

MCFC 1 :: REBUY MADNESS
A rebuy here ... a rebuy there ... everywhere a rebuy!
DP:
So he's built his "rebuy" to a nice roll. It wasn't technically a rebuy but he used his rakeback cash to restart his roll. Rules are rules though since we're all NOT getting rakeback (i.e. DC).
Only thing he needs to watch out for is "the cooler" (i.e. me) railing his heads up battles. Seems he ran like God until I watched him ... then he got 3 outed and coolered like not tomorrow. Guess I found out my new strategy !!! :)
Current Bankroll: $57.55 (with 1 REBUY)
GC:
So I thought I could grind my pity little bankroll into something significant ... ughhhh ... guess again!
I ran terrible in 4 consecutive heads up matches only winning a $5 version.
I ran terrible despite playing very well (or at least I thought so).
Losing KK AIPF to AQ sucks big time.
Flopping the nuts with 53 in a raised pot is sweet.
The A24 board then runs out as with 4 and and A ...
I felt like Negreanu on HSP ... "Why do I ALWAYS lose when I flop the nuts?!?!?!"
Unlike Negreanu I was able to fold the hand and not be a payoff wizard.
I still lost the heads up battle though after grinding back ... I just keep getting kicked in the nuts at this game.
I'm playing some 50NL and getting some rakeback dollars ... (ugh, cents)
Current Bankroll: $56.91 (with 1 REBUY)
DC:
Dude's 5 week paternity leave is over and he's back to work. He hasn't grinded himself a lead of ANY sort so what kind of hours will he be able to put in now? Rebbeka has been a wonderful baby and only keeps him up on occasion so he might be okay .... he still needs to luckbox an MTT anyways!
Current Bankroll: ??? (with 1 REBUY)

MCFC 1 :: Still here
Sorry for the lack of updates. I know I've disappointed my loyal readers (haha).
The combination of a big NFL win (granted not as large as we hoped for) and poker bad beats has contributed to my laziness. I don't have all the exact numbers but let me recap briefly here
DP:
Dropped his roll to below $15 ... won a heads up tournament (4 man) to get some back.
Ran bad at 2/4NL and needs to REBUY !!!
GC:
Lost set over set and generally runs like ass.
Bankroll: $18.71
DC:
Ran like ass ... lost some SNGs and needed to REBUY !!!!
I'll be trying to update more frequently now ... unless we have a great weekend in NFL bets again! :)

MCFC 1 :: Day 7 - More of the same
More of the same in the MCFC ... running bad that is.
We have more pressing issues to attend to so this is a short post
DP:
Runs bad at Razz
Current Bankroll: $11
GC:
Runs bad at NLHE.
I'm a rakeback pro who breaks even ... yeah for me.
Current Bankroll: $52.87
DC:
Runs bad at NLHE and cant win a flip to save his life
Current Bankroll: $51.15

MCFC 1 :: DAY 6 - Can you say TILT?
GC's on tilt ...
DC's on tilt ...
DP's on uber tilt and running bad
DP:
DP got rivered 3 straight hands at 8/16 Razz and generally ran bad.
He first played some 2/4 (NL?) and ran bad.
He's dropped down to the pack with a large THUMP
Current Bankroll: $58
GC:
As per my comment in last night's post I continued to run bad.
Lost a heads up ... lost some Razz ... basically everything I touch turns to crap.
My bankroll and patience are dwindling.
Current Bankroll: $63.02
DC:
He's grinding SNGs and gets it AIPF with a dominating hand (AT vs A3)
Of course the 3 flops and he takes 2nd place instead of 1st.
Current Bankroll: $51
Things are NOT pretty and we're tilting pretty hard.
At least we're all in this thing together!

MCFC 1 :: DAY 5 - DP's lead stretches
Quick Update today ...
DP:
Didn't play a hand yet his lead widens.
Current Bankroll: $400.65
GC:
I lost a big pot after last night's post.
We got all the money in on the turn with Villain draw to a flush.
And BOOM ... he hits his friggin 9 outer to scoop the pot.
I've been forced to grind a ton to make up for the loss.
I've also been playing with Razz to keep up with the Machine known as DP.
I run decent at times then horrible at others ... I need to be a quick learner at that game.
Current Bankroll: $144.86
DC:
DC made a critical mistake by gambling too much in order to cut DP's lead.
What resulted was DC check-raising with ZERO fold equity drawing to 8 outs.
He missed and is still in last place.
Remember, it's ONLY Day 5 and there is tons of time before panic sets in.
Current Bankroll: ~$57 (approximation since I don't exactly remember what he told me over IM)

MCFC 1 :: DAY 4 - Just A Razz Machine
DP is threatening to pull away and make this contest his own on Day 4.
Should we start engraving his name on the trophy or wait a little bit?
DP:
When DP runs good he runs good.
When he's able to book roughly $100 profit per Razz session he can afford to take nights off.
He's playing awesome (his words not mine) and making hero calls on the river.
Basically, he's a Razz Machine ... and he doesn't work for nobody but an MCFC Championship.
Current Bankroll: $400.65
Yes, that NOT a typo ... and Yes, we both told him to FUCK off !
It's not that we wish bad things to happen to him ... we just don't want him to do as well as us ... variance and running bad ... a little help here ?
GC:
I thought I was running pretty good until I heard DP's update.
I've been grinding 2 50NL tables to some pretty good success.
My overpairs hold up ... I get there on the river and playing good discipline poker.
I'm playing awesome (my words)
Current Bankroll: $194.21
DC:
DC made a deepish run in an MTT donkament but didn't cash.
He's playing a lot looser than normal to keep up.
He even calls a 4x BB raise PF with 67 soooooooooted.
Flopping trips and busting QQ is always nice.
Safe to say he's running pretty good after a minor rough spell.
Current Bankroll: $139.15
Question to our faithful readers:
1) Anyone out there ... comments are appreciated and encouraged
2) What do you think of our progress early on? Better than you thought?
Should we start engraving his name on the trophy or wait a little bit?

MCFC 1 :: DAY 3 - Just Grindin'
Quick update today ....
Remember, this is a long series so you cannot expect top notch writing updates EVERY day.
I just don't have it in me ... especially when UNC is playing on TV! :)
DP:
No updates from DP today .... he's sitting a top and remains in the lead.
Current Bankroll: $125.75
GC:
Played some 50NL today and big hand came from a flopped flush in a blind versus blind battle. Villain flopped a set and we managed to NOT get it all in.
I value bet his ass by potting it every street for the winner.
Good thing the board didn't pair !
Current Bankroll: $118
DC:
DC played some 100NL and some 50NL.
He won a monsterpotten with a flopped set against someone who couldn't get away from AK unimproved.
It's remarkable how poorly people play that hand at lower limits.
He lost some winnings when he called a shorty's shove with 88 ... he was drawing to 2 outs and didn't hit.
Current Bankroll: $85.05

MCFC 1 :: DAY 2 - Don't Call it a Comeback
A major moving day in the challenge.
Who was last is now first ... and who was first is now last.
And me? I'm still in the middle of the pack
DP:
When we last saw DP he was dejected and on the verge of having to "REBUY".
What ensued was a comeback of biblical proportions ... well maybe not biblical ... but epic none the less.
The formula looks as follows:
DP's last place $6.90 bankroll --> $5 Matrix --> $11 Shootout --> Sultry Vixen known as Razz --> some 25NL --> some more Razz --> DP in first place !!!
He also made some donk calls at NLHE and served as DC's personal ATM at the table.
Wait ? King HIGH is no good?
It doesn't matter since he runs good at Razz .. that's a money maker for him and may force us to gamble a bit more to make up.
Current Bankroll: $125.75
GC:
The 3 of us played 25NL cash games and it was site of the best hand played thus far.
GC utterly and decisively PWNED DC big time !!!!
Let's post the Hand History for that one .. it was awesome

DC was stacked by my set a couple hands later when he thought I was making a move AGAIN ... but this time I had the NUTS.
Thanks for coming out DC!
Instead of getting dejected and going on tilt ... he re-grouped nicely and withdrew from the bank of DP.
He also kept flopping the nuts and getting paid the entire way.
He lost a bunch of his stack when he was forced to change diapers and attend to Baby Becks.
Baby duty is a HUGE wildcard for DC.
He also took a shot at a $5 donkament MTT but was eliminated ... his luckboxing skills will come out at a later date I'm sure.
Current Bankroll: $68.10

MCFC 1 :: DAY 1
MCFC 1 is off and running ...
DP being the degen that he is started playing at the stroke of midnight.
I would have as well .. but I was exhausted from tailgating at the Bills game and standing in the constant drizzle for 8 hours ... I was soaked and intoxicated !!!
GOOD TIMES (other than the Bills losing to the 49ers)
The action is fast flowing and here's an update on where we stand.
Note that we'll be playing at odd hours and the bankrolls will be quite fluid, so this is a mere snapshot at a point in time.
DP:
On the drive back from Buffalo, I was saying how I had a likely uphill climb to catch up to DP.
I knew he'd play right away and likely luckbox his way to a nice profit and lead in the challenge.
A HUGE smile came to my face when I read his email titled "DP's already behind".
[ Yes, he's earned to right to refer to himself in 3rd person acronym format ... as Digable Planet would say ... he's cool like dat]
He started off winning a heads up tourney to bring the bankroll to $71.
Then he got greedy!
The self-proclaimed Razz Machine lost quite a bit of his roll.
Starting Bankroll: $50
Current Bankroll: $6.90
GC:
I started with a conservative approach playing $5 heads up SNGs.
I tried them out on a trial run prior to the challenge and ran good.
The play is utterly horrid with people shoving their stacks at small blinds ... 70BB shoves PF with 22/33/A6 are COMMON.
People shove on the flop with no hand/no draw ... ("nh sir")
I've won 4 straight $5 SNGs (only 2 counting in the challenge) and a $10 heads up SNG.
I'm not a good heads up player but I pwn these donks!
I've played some 0.10/0.25NL but got bored pretty quickly.
Not a bad start.
Starting Bankroll: $50
Current Bankroll: $70.60
DC:
We get to Mr Luckbox.
He decided to play some cash games (25NL) and boy, did he run good!
Let's just say the majority of the money got in on the river with the board reading:
[4d 5d Ks] [7d] [2c]
The villain in this hand figured he had the nuts with Ad Kd.
That would be a valid assumption right?
But noooooooooooooooooo ...........
DC is in "God mode" and shows up with 8d 6d ... which is also known as the NUTS BABY!!
Big pot for DC who doubles up and takes the early lead.
I don't feel so bad that he lost with AA All In Pre Flop (AIPF) to 33 in his 6-man SNG.
Of course the 3 flops and cracks his AA!!
He's still off to an early lead.
Starting Bankroll: $50
Current Bankroll: $86.85
